These plans are an excellent way for seniors on Medicare living in California to receive dental care since Medicare does not provide dental benefits. I have worked with Medicare plans since 1989 and am contracted and certified with 6-8 of the top plans each year. You may contact my office at 1-800-664-5433 for the latest information and comparison of the latest Medicare plans.
If you have a Medicare Advantage Plan and are looking for a comprehensive dental plan, you may only have a choice of a package of benefits containing Dental, Vision, Chiropractic and Acupuncture. There are a few California Medicare Advantage Plans that offer a dental plan only, but they are not as comprehensive as these plans.
Depending on the plan, you can pay $20 - $30 monthly for the package with your Medicare Plan. If you do not use Chiropractic or Acupuncture, you are now paying for a Dental Plan and a Vision Plan. Your Medicare Advantage Plan will offer a vision test for a nominal co-pay. With that you can buy a pair of glasses for $100 or so. So now you are left paying $20 - $30 a month for a dental plan through your Medicare Advantage Plan. This is too much.
There are three comprehensive dental plans to choose from here. All plans offer Exams, Cleanings every 6 months and X-rays at no cost. There are 250+ procedures covered, including Extraction, Fillings, Crowns, Root Canals, Dentures, Partials and much more. Dental Plan 595 even offers Cosmetic Dental benefits with resin, tooth colored fillings. Click here to go to the home page where you can view and/or print brochures on any of these plans.
